Zibby Media · A notice to writers

Scam Alert

Fraudulent offers are circulating in Zibby Media's name. Here is what we will never do, and how to protect yourself.

The one rule

Publishing with us never costs a fee.

Scammers often seek payment from writers in exchange for publishing and marketing services. Their tactics are fraudulent and Zibby Media will never seek a fee or require contracted services in exchange for publishing consideration.

Zibby Media will not ask prospective authors for any form of payment or banking information as part of the manuscript development or submission process.

What to watch for

How the approaches look.

Borrowed names. Our company name, logos and the names of individual staff members are often used by scammers to feign legitimacy.

Unsolicited offers. Be wary if you receive an unsolicited email about your work from someone claiming to work for Zibby Media or Zibby's Bookshop staff.

Spoofed addresses. Pay close attention to the email domain, as scammers often spoof a legitimate email address. For further guidance, see the FTC's scam alerts.
