All Things Memoir Writing Group (Hybrid Class)

Starts Thursday, October 5, 2023 - Meets Weekly: 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/25 After the incredible turnout for “All Things Memoir” in July 2023, we’re launching an ongoing writing group as requested by our wonderful community of writers! Whether you’re in search of inspiration, encouragement, wisdom, or prompts and exercises to keep you focused on your writing, this group welcomes everyone at any level. This will be a hybrid class. It will meet every week, month to month. The first three weeks will be over Zoom, while the fourth meeting of the month will take place in person at Zibby's Bookshop in Santa Monica. Instructor Reema Zaman brings her experience as a writing teacher, a published author, and her impassioned faith in every writer to this weekly group to create a singular and powerful experience. Class Details

Cost: $199 per student

Format: Online for three sessions and in-person at Zibby’s Bookshop (1113 Montana Ave, Santa Monica, CA) on 10/25 session

Start Date: Thursday, October 5, 2023

Time: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (PT) for 4 weeks

About the Instructor

Reema Zaman is an author, screenwriter, and speaker. Her books include the critically acclaimed memoir I Am Yours and Paramita: A Dystopian Matriarchy. She is the creator and writer of the TV show Snap. For media appearances, Reema is best known for her interview on Dear Sugars with Cheryl Strayed; her interview, Speaking as a Revolution on Layla Saad’s Good Ancestor Podcast, her interview on VICE News’ Strongman and her TEDxTalk, "The power of your no and the authority of your yes.” Reema’s work has appeared inVogue, Ms. Magazine, The Guardian, Salon, and other leading outlets.
